Aydin Boluk - DC7

I am a medical doctor currently pursuing a PhD in cardiovascular genomics under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Minna Kaikkonen Määttä at the A.I. Virtanen Institute, University of Eastern Finland. With a strong interest in bioinformatics, my research focuses on applying computational methods to analyse single-cell OMICs data, particularly to elucidate epigenetic and gene-regulatory networks in macrophages. I aim to explore the role of macrophages in diverse tissues linked to cardiometabolic traits, with the goal of uncovering genetic factors that predispose individuals to cardiometabolic diseases and inflammation. Through this work, I hope to contribute to a deeper understanding of macrophage function in both health and disease.
